The Kids Christmas Corner, sponsored by the GFWC Women’s Club of Fairbury, is back for another exciting, fun filled, shopping opportunity for the Kids! Part of Fairbury’s Christmas Parade Day festivity of events, this popular arrangement gives the youngsters the chance to shop for the grown-ups on their Holiday Gift List in an affordable assisted format. Bring your children to the former Weber Plumbing Building on the east end of Fairbury’s Main Street (208 E Locust) from 9am to noon on Saturday, December 3rd, and they can shop for Christmas gifts for Mom & Dad, their Grandparents, or, any adult on their gift list.
Sorry Adults but you’re not allowed to accompany them into the shopping area – after all, their purchases have to remain a “secret” until you open them. There will be plenty of volunteers available to assist our little shoppers in finding what they want and getting their packages wrapped and ready to go under the tree. The cost for each gift is $1.00 so the kids (12 years and under) can get what they need for a very reasonable amount. Just a reminder – the gifts are adult items.
The Fairbury Women’s Club works all year long to accumulate this collection of merchandise by utilizing a variety of avenues from special store sales to garage sales to donations. All in all they do a great job in organizing a great event that offers a lot to the community’s families. Thanks GFWC, your work is much appreciated.
Saturday, December 3rd, will be a fun packed day in Fairbury – we’ve got the Christmas Parade, Santa Claus is coming to town, and there is a lot going on with the Fairbury Business’s in addition to the Kid’s Christmas Corner. Plenty to see and plenty to do so don’t miss it! Take a look at the Fairbury Attractions Web Site for all the “goings on”.
