On Friday and Saturday, June 19th and 20th, this enterprising and energetic collaboration of Fairbury Special Business Interests are putting together another coordinated event, the Sizzling Summer Event, to help us launch the summer season that begins with Father’s Day, the first official day of summer and, the longest day of the year. In just about every public access place in town (and the surrounding area) you’ll find these informative brochures and post cards that will show you where each of these shops and businesses are, what their hours are, and what you’ll find when you visit so, take a look at them and see how easy it is to plan a route through Fairbury’s fine array of shopping and get in on the adventure and the fun. While you’re out and about you can find a diversified assortment of restaurants that can keep you vitalized – we’ve got Benchwarmers Pub, the China Kitchen, Dairy Queen, Dave’s Supermarket 3rd Street Deli, Lost in Time, and McDonald’s Family Restaurant and any one of them can appease your appetite. So there you have it People – go find your dad something special, get those hard to find items, and get your shopping list taken care of. Get that all done and then you can go enjoy stock car racing at it’s finest with the UMP Summer Nationals at the Fairbury American Legion Speedway at the Fair Grounds on Saturday evening – one of the classic racing events of the season. It’s a special weekend with special interests put on by special people and its fun, its friendly, and great for everyone in the family so come on out and make it happen for you and yours.
