The China Kitchen – our Fairbury connection to oriental cooking and cuisine is having a Mystery Item on their buffet come Wednesday, January 14th. We tried to coerce “Wilson” into telling us what it was but he wasn’t budging other than to say that it was something special. Now these folks up there at the restaurant at 108 West Locust (Fairbury’s Main Street) have a very nice buffet arrangement every week, Tuesday through Sunday, and they have a lot of the traditional Chinese dishes that can be put together for one heck of a plate full of good eating but this concept is kind of intriguing – there will be all the standard buffet items on this special day plus, a “Mystery Item” that will enhance the dining choices while providing a variation in the routine menu.
Come on up and see what the “mind of Wilson” has “cooked up” for his customers, should be interesting as well as delicious – he has a knack for creating appealing dishes and he is fresh back from his restaurant adventures up north so we’ll see what he has brought back with him.
The China Kitchen and their hard working crew has built a reputation for some very fine eating – Mandarin cooking as it has come to be known as by using the Chinese food culture as its base of development. This group of energetic go-getters are very good at preparing the various dishes, both hot and cold, keeping them fresh, and hustling to get you situated at a table with your drinks so you can step up to the buffet and have at it.
They will also take your carry out orders over the phone and have them ready for your pick-up in short order. They are open for lunch and dinner Tuesday through Sunday and the food is always ready, easy to get to and delicious to eat so give yourself a break from the humdrum American everyday stuff and try a few of these oriental dishes – it takes the “ho” out of “hum”. See you over by the fried rice right next to the egg rolls – have at it people, its good stuff and, take a look on Wednesday January 14th and see what Wilson is being “mysterious” about.
