Our local “Queen of Cuisine” is putting on another dinner event that is bound to tweak the interest of anyone with an adventurist appetite as well as those who just enjoy a good robust meal. Sally Goembel and her Lost in Time Restaurant Team will be having a Hog Roast and Wild Game Feed this coming Saturday evening, November 8th, from 5pm to 9pm and the choices present some interesting temptations. First we have what most of us are familiar with, the Hog Roast – this features a hog from Twin Oak Meats that will be prepared by the expertise of Vermillion Valley Meats and if you like your pork tender, juicy, and mouth watering then you’ll have it all with this entrée.
On the other side of the menu we have Elk Stew that comes well recommended for those with a taste for something different that comes from the great outdoors – kind of like base camp dinner time in the mountains of the west right here in the middle of farm country. These dinner main liners are accompanied by butter milk mashed potatoes, green beans, a side salad and dinner roll along with a non-alcoholic drink and concluded with desert.
There will also be wild game sausage available (rumor has it that some involuntary alligators and rabbits were recruited for this purpose) so the adventure is there for those who wish to expand their dining horizons along with some of the more familiar dishes and the whole experience will be one to enjoy.
The atmosphere surrounding the dining will be enhanced with decorations by Serendipity and Meyer’s Gifts, two of our local Specialty Shops.
Lost in Time has an established reputation for putting these events together in a well organized fashion with a menu that is tastefully prepared and efficiently served so come on up and see what the “buzz” is all about – we’re betting you’ll be glad you did. Indulge yourself, step out of the mundane and experience the difference that creative minds have turned into an opportunity. It is suggested that tickets are purchased in advance, but not required. See you at base camp – Lost in Time Restaurant, on the northeast corner of Locust and Fourth St. in Fairbury. Phone number is 815-692-2100.
