FLAVORS FROM THE FARM – A LOCAL TASTE
HOSTED BY THE FAIRBURY AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
Saturday, August 12th – Sunken Park in Downtown Fairbury
11am to 6pm
Brats by Dave’s Supermarket, Kabobs by Livengood’s, Grilled Ribs by Slagel Family Meats, Butterfly Pork Chop Sandwiches by the VFW Auxiliary, Fried Sides by Steidenger Foods, Corn on the Cob by the Fairbury Chamber of Commerce, Ice Cream by Kilgus Farmstead, Cupcakes by Bekah’s Bakin, Homemade Baked Goods by Fairview Haven, Deserts by Lost in Time Timeless Treats, and the Coffee Steamer Mobile Café – all on hand to give you a taste of local produce that comes from the area and to showcase the restaurants and local businesses who specialize in food products produced locally.
In addition to all the great eats the Livingston County Farm Bureau is sponsoring “Garden in a Glove” from 11am to 2pm. Also there is entertainment provided by Jake and the Moneymakers, Farm Hats, and Leftover Biscuits.
There’s also the Farmers Market featuring items from Living Waters Farms and Grani’s Acres – lots of good stuff from people who know how to do it.
A whole lot of local businesses have reached out to help sponsor this event along with the Fairbury Chamber of Commerce and it has all the makings for a great outing for all ages. So, pack up the kids and grab your friends and come on out to Sunken Park (Fairbury’s Main Street between Fourth & Fifth Streets) and have some tasty local food, let the kids have some fun, enjoy the entertainment, and see how all these local producers and businesses come together to make it happen for the community.
