FAIRBURY, IL – The mystique and excitement of a Silent Auction – sound interesting? Well, here is a chance to get into the action of just that – it’s the annual Fairview Haven Silent Auction and their 19th Annual Benefit Supper. The auction has several exclusive trips in it’s repertoire from a Mississippi River Cruise to a 3 bedroom condo just across from the Gulf to some great dining as well as a golf cart. You can also use their Phone-A-Bid or Email-A-Bid service to submit your bid on any item – the phone number is 815-692-2572 and the email address is fairviewhaven1@gmail.com and those resources are available now. The auction itself takes place on Friday, November 6th and the bidding opens at 10am and closes at 7:30pm. When you register for a bidder’s number you will be asked for your email address and phone number – once the auction is closed and the winning bids are all entered into the computer you will receive an email and or text message notifying you of the status of your bid(s). The Annual Benefit Supper runs that Friday (the 6th) from 4 to 7pm and features grilled pork loin and chicken quarters with baked potato, fruit salad, green beans, dinner roll, beverage, and your choice of some great homemade pies. The volunteer grillers prepare five star quality meat that is marinated in their own special marinade and they have an outstanding reputation with those of us who have already sampled their wares. You can have your meal right there in the Fairview Haven Cafeteria or, you can have them fix it up for you to carry out. Treat the family, and yourself, that evening and let these folks fix your dinner for you.
All the proceeds from the auction and the dinner are designated for use in the “Transforming Dementia Care” program at Fairview Haven and for their Good Samaritan Fund. Straight donations are always a welcome gesture and they can be made by contacting the Social Services Department at 815-692-2572 or on line at fairview@Route24.net.
