FAIRBURY, IL – Fairbury’s Christmas Parade – here comes a dose of the “holiday spirit” in grand form, the annual Fairbury Christmas Parade is scheduled to step off on Saturday, December 5th, at 10:30 am. Hear this all you Kids (of all ages), you better work on “being nice” because Santa Claus is coming to town and you all know about his list that he checks at least twice. Along with Santa you’ll be able to see Miss Merry Christmas and Mr. Jack Frost along with some of Fairbury’s Finest from the Fire Department as well as assorted guests, special acknowledgements, and some nicely presented decorated floats and rides. all of which will be escorting ol’ St. Nick down Fairbury’s Main Street and, once the Parade has run it’s course Santa will be available to the “real kids” to take their requests with that special holiday cheer that he is so well known for.
Bring the Family, bring your Friends, and bring yourself to uptown Fairbury and enjoy the festivities – there will also be the annual Kids Christmas Corner sponsored by the Fairbury Women’s Club and the Westview PTO at the old Weber Plumbing Building up on East Locust (Main) Street and the Cookie Jar operated by the Westview PTO – a chance for your kids to do some responsible shopping of their own and, for you adults to browse through some things that, when purchased, will go for a worthy need. The Specialty Shops are hosting their Christmas Open Houses the day of the parade, too! Be sure to check out the festivities at the shops and get in some Christmas shopping.
The Parade will truly usher in the Holiday Season and there are all kinds of things to see, do, and get into in the Fairbury Business Tract so give it a “look see” and come enjoy yourself – you’ll be glad you did! See you there!
