Selcas Ambulance Service Open House –
Selcas is inviting the public to an Open House on Friday, July 31st, at their new facility in the Brian Munz Memorial Building on the southwest corner of First Street and Locust Street in Fairbury. This group of Paramedics and Emergency Responders, along with the City of Fairbury, have put a lot of work into getting this new location into working order and they have got it looking spectacular on the outside. Now its time for all of us to take a look at the inside and we can do that from 4pm to 8pm that Friday evening. Included in the “walk through” is the Fairbury Fire Department, who has now fully relocated into their section of this upscale new age facility (the majority of it actually) and, while we’re seeing how this complex of Fairbury’s Finest in Emergency Response arrangements is put together, we can also enjoy a meal of pork burgers, baked beans, potato chips, and water that will be served during the Open House to appease anyone who has the “hungries”. These are the Folks who we, as community, depend on to rescue us from the many various circumstances that could befall any one of us at any time and they have an outstanding reputation for doing that with their quick response and expertise at handling any situation in a professional and experienced way. They have been there countless numbers of times for people in need and we are certainly fortunate to have this ambulance service, and all the fine Personnel that make it work, at our beck and call when circumstances have dealt us a need for those services. Most of us only know them for having seen them in action but here is a chance to stop in and get a look at the inner sanctum and this new building, which has been in the works for some time now, and see how this modern enhancement is making it better for all concerned. The Selcas Team has donated a lot of their personal time in beautifying the outside and, in just passing, the place looks great. Come on up and take a look at the whole operation, pat them on the back and give them the “thanks” they deserve and, have a bite to eat while you’re taking it all in.
