Sweet, delicious, sticky honey; the gentle buzzing on a hot Summer day; the sharp, burning twinge from a sting – Ouch! Bees, we all have our own images of these important and busy flying insects.
Join The Friends of the Dominy Library for “Bees, Beekeeping, and Pollination” on Saturday, March 2 at 2pm in the White Community Room of the Dominy Memorial Library in Fairbury.
Bees, Beekeeping, and Pollination features guest speaker Cindy Kinate of Fairbury Healthy Harvest Farms. Cindy is also a member of the Central Illinois Beekeepers Association, and a University of Illinois Master Gardener.
From beeswax to honey, learn the benefits of bees in the environment and what you can do to help these little fuzzy, yellow and black, buzzing pollinators thrive in Central Illinois.
This is a free event and fun for all ages. Refreshments will be served and you could BEE a winner of a “sweet” door prize!
“Bees, Beekeeping, and Pollination” at the Dominy Memorial Library – 201 S. 3rd Street, Fairbury.
