Wiggle, giggle, sing and bounce – Baby and Me Storytime is at Dominy Memorial Library! Little ones and caregivers alike will enjoy fun stories, songs, rhymes, and bubbles, while meeting other parents and their babies.
Baby and Me Storytime is an interactive program designed for babies ages 0 to 2. “Research shows that the rhythms and rhymes of the stories, songs, and finger-plays we will do set the foundation for literacy skills in the future,” says Library Director Amanda Todd. “I’m just looking to reach the youngest library users in hopes they’ll become lifelong users and to help develop their literacy skills. I also was a stay-at-home mom for a while when I had my daughter, so I understand the need for mom’s to get out of the house and socialize with other caregivers. Hopefully this will provide an outlet right here in town to get to meet other babies and caregivers while also promoting literacy skills! I also love kids, and especially babies, and can’t wait to interact with them and expose them to the lifelong skill of reading!”
Baby and Me Storytime is the second Monday of each month at 10:30am and no registration is needed. Also at the Dominy Memorial Library, children can enjoy the new train table in the children’s area, plus every Friday at 10:30am is a Storytime that is geared towards older preschoolers, but everyone is welcome!
