The excitement of Christmas is in the air! Santa Clause is coming to town and he is bringing with him a festive day of family fun on Saturday, December 1st!
Christmas in Fairbury starts with a hot breakfast at the Fairbury VFW, at the First United Methodist Church, or at First Baptist Church. Next, it’s time to shop for treasures at Indian Creek Holiday Market inside SELCAS/Fairbury Fire Station and at the Relay for Life Bazaar being held at First Baptist Church.
For lunch, warm up with a hot bowl chili or soup at Oddfellows and then stop into Dave’s 3rd Street Deli for 50¢ ice cream and free coffee. Satisfy your sweet tooth at the Westview PTO Cookie Jar Sales, next to Serendipity and at the Fairbury VFW bake sale.
The Fairbury Christmas Parade steps off at 11:30. Floats, lights and decorations, local celebrities, vintage cars, emergency vehicles, candy, a Christmas Court and the one and only…Santa Claus!
Following the parade, there’s even more Christmas joy in Fairbury as Santa makes his way over to the Fairbury VFW to meet children and hear their Christmas wishes.
After seeing Jolly Old St. Nick, take a step back in time and tour Fairbury by way of horse and buggy – these free carriage rides are sponsored by Bluestem/Bank of Pontiac. Meet your friends and enjoy hot beverages, cookies, and the sounds of Christmas at the Dominy Memorial Library with a performance from the PCHS Madrigals.
We wrap up this fun filled day at the Specialty Shops of Fairbury Shopping Celebration, where the perfect gift and holiday specials are waiting for you!
