Well Race Fans, here comes the FALS big event of the racing season – the 28thannual Prairie Dirt Classic. This is a two day extravaganza in stock car dirt track racing with a “big purse” appeal that draws them in from everywhere on the racing circuit. The Fairbury Race Track Board and Organizers have built this event up to a level where they have been awarded the DirtonDirt.Com “race of the year” award for three out of the last four years.
On Friday, July 28th, the full night of racing includes four Dirtcar Summit Modified Nationals Showdown 25 lap features with the qualifiers moving onto Saturday night’s championship race and four World of Outlaws Late Model Showdown 25 lap features that feeds into the 100 lap Prairie Dirt Classic Feature on Saturday night.
On Saturday, July 29th, it’s a huge night of racing capped off by the 100 lap Prairie Dirt Classic that has a $30,000 purse for the winner. The program includes the Prairie Dirt Shootout LM Non-Qualifiers Feature with a $2,000 purse and the Dirtcar Summit Modified Nationals Championship Finale with a $5,000 purse. All said and done there is a two night total of $93,000 in payouts up for grabs that some of the best drivers in the country will be competing for and it’s one of the most exciting quarter mile dirt track events anywhere. It’s a great track with well-organized programs and the facility is very “fan friendly” so come on out and get in on the excitement and bring some extra adrenaline, you’ll probably need it.
