FORREST, IL – Prairie Central FFA – the annual Farm and Home Show –
Hey Folks – here is an opportunity to get an up close look at a bunch of your local communities businesses, maybe find something you weren’t aware of and take advantage right there on the spot or, just get acquainted with various aspects of the area’s goods and services.
From candle makers to auto dealers, from basic housewares to commercial banks, and just about everything in between (got a lot of Ag related businesses in the mix) – the Future Farmers of America chapter of the Prairie Central School System is holding their annual Farm and Home Show to give the surrounding area’s residents (and guests) a first hand up close look at what we have in the way of commercial concerns threaded throughout the sprawling business sector of Prairie Central’s home turf.
Each one of these participants will have their own table or booth that will present their representation of their particular business complete with associates that can assist with questions, information, and, if you’d like, an on the spot opportunity to purchase those things and services you might decide you need. This program has a very good reputation for attendance and business awareness, especially for small business concepts that are just getting started – it provides an excellent public awareness for PC’s business infrastructure.
This event gives us the opportunity to do two things – first we get the chance to take a closer than passing look at the services that are available to us right in our own back yards and second, it gives these businesses that buy into the exposure an incentive to not only be there but to return for the next one. The admission to the public is free and the money that is collected from the advertising fee is put to use in the FFA’s team participation and activities that they are involved in every year, so everything works together for a very good cause that helps our young people get involved and stay involved in quality student programs in the Agriculture venue.
Here is the details:
Where – the Upper Elementary School Building in Forrest at 312 North Center Street – right on Route 47 three blocks north of the Rte 47; Rte 24 intersection

There will be a lunch menu available – the FFA kids will be teaming up with the school’s cafeteria staff to provide the hungry with a pork burger or pork chop sandwich along with a variety of sides and dessert and drinks from 11am to 2pm. Go ahead, place your order and give these kids a chance to apply themselves to their own cause – the profits from this endeavor go into that activity support fund too so its a win win – you eat some good food and they build up their funding for the things on their agenda that provides some worthwhile participation. Go on now, go see what we’re talking about and make something good happen for you and, for the FFA and the businesses that make the effort worth while.
