140th Annual Fairbury Fair – yes, 140 years of giving the community five days worth of entertainment, fun, and excitement in only the way that the “fair atmosphere” can. Starting Wednesday, August 17th, and continuing on through Sunday, August 21st, we’ve got one of the summers big events that is loaded with things to do, things to see, and all kinds of fun to be had. At the nucleus of this organized adventure land is Luehr’s Ideal Rides which brings us the carnival rides, the games, and the refreshment stands that puts the “zip” in everybody’s “zip line” and its operated in a clean, efficient, and friendly manner that makes the experience a pleasant one for all. A favorite of the kids (even the older ones), these mechanical wonders take fun and excitement to the next level and, the Luehr’s folks have added two new rides for the 2016 event. Check out their daily specials and see how you can play all day with ticket prices that are aimed at keeping it comfortable. Then there’s the “fair food”, from local stands to the Carnival’s special “stuff” – meals, snacks, treats, and drinks are all part of the menagerie that gives all of us a reason to indulge for this “one time during the year”.
