FAIRBURY, IL – PLANTS & MORE – Well, Spring has sprung and for all of you folks who are chomping at the bit to get out there in your yard and start the “sprucing up” projects, the “plant and flower cavalry” is forming ranks to give you the opportunity to fill in the spaces. JoEllen Gehring is throwing open the doors to Cascade Gardens and the assembled troops of plants (perennials, annuals, tropical, vegetable, and herbs) are in formation and they are accompanied by a supporting cast of trees and shrubs and a whole lot more. The Gehring Farm is located approximately a half mile west of Fairbury with a lane entrance right off of Route 24, the one with the sign next to it that says “Cascade Gardens”. You can’t miss it, north side of the road with a couple of big white structures that stand out from the rest of the farm stead.
Those flowers for your flower beds, that shrub you need, the hanging basket for the front porch, the plants for your landscaping job – they’re all there and waiting for you to come give them a home. JoEllen is going to be open the last half of April and she has her Open House slated for Friday, May 1st and Saturday, May 2nd. There will be door prizes and light refreshments for the Open House and, of course, a great selection of those green and colorful leafy things that do so well in making our yards, houses, and businesses a visual delight. This is Cascade Gardens Sixth Anniversary and they have done an outstanding job in coming up with a variety of user friendly vegetation availability so check them out – once you’ve been you’ll see why so many from the area keep going back, they are competitively priced, the quality is very good and the categories are selected for area interests.
One additional note – the Gehring Farm also offers chicken meat and eggs year round – good place to get some of that fresh country produce.
Hours of Operation are: Monday through Saturday, 9am to 7pm – easy access, plenty of parking, wagons available for multiple purchases and credit cards are accepted. Go make your yard happy!
