FAIRBURY, IL – ALL TOWN GARAGE SALE – Spring has sprung and people are coming out of hibernation and, its that time again. The Fairbury Women’s Club is launching their 2015 All Town Garage Sale Campaign with their spring edition that will be happening starting Friday, April 24th and concluding on Saturday, April 25th. The gates go up at 9:00am on both mornings and the hunt for bargains begins for all you fans that will be out there looking for something old, something new, and anything that tickles the fancy of the “huntsman”.
This is an organized intriguing way for recycling and the GFWC of Fairbury has a long standing history of getting it done in an effective and efficient way – these ladies have been hosting this event for a whole lot of years and they know what they’re doing. If you’ve got that normal accumulation of “stuff” that most of us do, and you want a rather exciting way to move it on to a, shall we say, more appreciative owner, then here is your chance. Get yourself organized and register your sale with the GFWC so you can get your location on their very public and widely used maps and you will be officially in the flow for, what is historically, a lot of traffic. The registration fee is $10 and, for that, you get a spot in the well placed advertising which goes up at several public facilities as well as the local media (18 different publications) and you will have your spot identified on the maps that go out to the public so they can find you. With that registration fee you also get to list up to10 items or categories that you would like to specify for your sale – if you’ve got more than that you can keep on listing for $1 for each item over ten.
The Fairbury Women’s Club All Town Garage Sales have generated a lot of participation from the entire area and have proven themselves to be a reliable way to get all that extra or no longer needed inventory out from under foot so jump on board and join the fun. Registration fees can be dropped off (or mailed) to Carol Ely at 409 West Chestnut Street in Fairbury and, if you’ve got other questions, you can call her at 815-692-2910. The fee needs to be in her hands by April 19th so don’t delay, get it down to Carol and get on the garage sale express. The maps will be printed and available at Dave’s Supermarket, Casey’s General Store, Doc’s, Hearts Desire, Bench Warmers, It’s Once ‘n Again, Frugality, and the Dairy Queen, all here in Fairbury. Maps are also available on line at www.cityoffairbury.com.
This is the opening event for the campaign and the GFWC will be sponsoring two more as we go through the summer – the next one will be July 25th and 26th and the final one will be September 25th and 26th. For you Sellers, good luck, and for you buyers, Happy Hunting!
