Contrary to some observations Meyer’s Gifts & Services is not in the moving business. Roberta has made her third relocation into the spacious appointments of the old SavMor building and we’re thinking that this looks pretty much permanent.
The new store is having its Open House celebration on Friday, April 18th and they will be serving cheese balls for visitors to nibble on as they meander through the many aisles and displays that this new arrangement now has. The day will include an offer of 25% off of any one item and, there are a lot of items that have a way of tantalizing even the most reluctant shoppers. In this shop’s unique repertoire you will find Gooseberry patch cookbooks, children’s books, wickless candles, Crow Canyon Home enamelware, Rada cutlery, dip mixes, soup mixes, Burt’s Bee products, boxed cards, inspiring Christian music, and a whole lot more. Roberta also features some very welcome services such as watch battery installation, engraving and jewelry repair and she has a laser engraver and an embroidery machine to put those professional touches in place with. She and her staff use patience and skills, which most of us don’t have, to put the right things in the right place and finishing with those things working like they’re supposed to and looking good doing it.
For those who might not know where the old SavMor building is here in Fairbury, the Meyer’s Gift & Services shop is located between Third and Second Streets (closer to Second), fronting on Locust Street (Main St.) on the north side of that street. So, come on in and check the store out – have a cheese ball, take advantage of the discount offer and see if there might just be something there that will put a smile on your face for having found it. No need to only think about the 18th though (well, maybe for the cheese balls and special discount), you can stop in anytime from 9am to 5pm Monday through Friday and 9am to 3pm on Saturday. Roberta also has a coupon on the back of Dave’s Supermarket register tapes so look for that as well the next time you get groceries. See you there.
