It is common knowledge that January is often a slow month for retail. With the joyous holidays past and the “winter blues” setting in, folks like to stay home and snuggle in.
However, in Fairbury, we don’t find time to let the winter blues set in! The Specialty Shops already have events scheduled.
The Specialty Shops Group is holding a fun event on this coming weekend on Friday and Saturday (Jan. 13th & 14st). Join in on the “Winter Blues to the Moon” event. Go shop Fairbury.
Check out your local shops for some really great deals! End of year deals, “Buy-Buy Clearance,” end of season specials! Many shops have specials and discounts.
Go inside and experience the shops and have fun!
“We like to have fun,” says Bobbi McKeon, owner of Heart’s Desire, and coordinator of the Specialty Shops group. “Bringing folks to town – so that restaurants, shops and service businesses benefit – that’s our goal!”
Be sure to stop by Meyer’s Gifts and Services, Heart’s Desire Antiques and Accents, Lost Arts, Once ‘n Again, Kilgus Farmstead, Serendipity, and Country Cupboard.
“Here’s a quick story,” Bobbi continues. “The other day I noticed on Facebook that someone was in Kentucky and snapped a picture of our Fairbury brochure and also the Livingston County brochure at Patti’s Settlement in Grand Rivers, Kentucky! Someone from our group had traveled through and placed our brochures there. Sure enough, it was soon spotted by someone who recognized Fairbury! We are on the map!”
