The City of Fairbury is home to a plethora of businesses, and our business community keeps growing every year. Growth of the business community is a win for the economy of our small towns.
The Specialty Shops of Fairbury work together to promote each other and the area’s other businesses. Teamwork between businesses is critical to survival of our small communities. A goal for any small town is for all businesses both new and old to band together and support one another.
“From a retail perspective, our competition is online shopping, plus the big box businesses,” says Bobbi McKeon owner of Heart’s Desire, “not the other businesses in town. Our hope is for all businesses, not just in Fairbury, but also the other surrounding small communities, to band together and get onboard to help promote each other.”
We would like to highlight some of the supporting businesses that opened, reopened, or moved to Fairbury in 2018!
If you’re looking for a bite to eat, you’re in luck because a storm of food places opened in Fairbury last year! If you’re craving Mexican food, Dos Fuentes is the place to eat. Business has been booming since they opened last spring. Don’t forget to wrap up your meal with a bit of ice cream at the new gourmet ice cream shop, Catton’s Creamery. Although Catton’s is closed for the winter months, you can still get his ice cream as a dessert at Gig’s Place and by the quart at Dave’s Supermarket!
The All American Wash (previously Super Wash) guarantees a clean car and a happy customer. If you need help with finances or insurance, call on Greg Kurtenbach, your new local State Farm agent. A Head of Style LLC, your local beauty salon, is now owned by Kathy Arbogast.
If you just can’t seem to find a business in Fairbury, it might’ve moved to a new location! J. Maries Salon & Day Spa can now be found at 204 East Locust Street. Pizzas by Marchelloni moved to what used to be Grandma’s Kitchen at 405 East Locust Street.
