The Fairbury Planning Commission recently sponsored a survey to learn more about what the area would like to see in Fairbury. The survey contained questions about possible improvements, changes and additions, town beautification, where funding should be allocated, what restaurants, retail shops, and attractions might benefit the area, what kind of events people would like to see, what folks buy outside of Fairbury and why, what concerns people have, etc.
The survey went live on November 19, 2014, and offered $500 in a drawing for prizes for those surveys submitted by January 31st. There were 256 people who submitted a survey. The winners chosen were:
$250 – Winner: Lisa Kilgus
$100 – Winner: Ron Parrish
$50 – Winner: Val Stoller
$50 – Winner: Jeff Potter
$25 – Winner: Jenny Osborn
$25 – Winner: Angie Kratochvil
Also, in showing appreciation for all the efforts and time people took in participating, the City gave away twenty-five Fairbury T-Shirts winners randomly drawn. These winners include:

“We plan to report more details of the survey results in future columns in this paper,” says Bobbi McKeon, coordinator of the Specialty Shops. “It is wonderful that the City’s planning commission sponsored a survey such as this.”
