The Blade – Events Important in Area

Another question in the survey sponsored by the Fairbury Planning Commission was, “What types of events would bring people to the area?”

The number one response was “Festivals” with 69.9% responding or 179 respondents. Second, events involving “Food” came in at 54% with 139 respondents. “Music” events came in third with 53% or 136 responding. “Fairs” came in with a 38% response ratio, and “Sports” with a 31% response.

“We have always known that events bring folks to town,” says Bobbi McKeon coordinator of the Specialty Shops group. “It is nice to learn what types actually are believed to draw more people.”

There is a long listing of events already scheduled for April and May, and there will probably be more to come. These events are posted on the www.FairburyILAttractions.com website. Please go take a look.
