The 143rd Annual Fairbury Fair is now history. Another big Fairbury event in our history books! As we all know, events bring people into town, and people coming to town means more foot traffic for our local businesses and more economic benefits for our community.
Many, many volunteers helped with this year’s Fair. Many, many thanks to all.
With this year’s theme “We’ve Got a Good Thing Growing,” we would like to especially recognize the hard work at Floral Hall. The 2019 Floral Hall theme was “Garden Party.”
For the last several years, Dede Traub, with input from other superintendents, has selected the Floral Hall theme and created the decorations. She works for months making and gathering items she needs to carry out that theme.
This year, Dede constructed the trees and canopy in the center of the Hall, which shelters a picnic table. She put in countless hours volunteering her time to create a themed vibe in amongst the entries and exhibits. All superintendents appreciate her hard work, skill and perseverance.
“Volunteers are so critical to the success of our small town events. It is because of volunteers like Dede that events can keep on from year to year,” says Bobbi McKeon, owner of Heart’s Desire.
“Thank you very much to all the volunteers who helped with the 143rd Fairbury Fair!”
