We are at the beginning of the season with Spring in the air and folks feel like getting out and doing things! Events help bring folks into town, and we have several this month helping do just that!
A great example of communities cooperating and pulling together is the Annual SELCAS Pancake and Sausage breakfast this past Saturday, March 31st at Indian Creek Country Club. “SELCAS serves Fairbury, Forrest, Chatsworth, Chenoa, Strawn, and Wing. Folks come from all over to volunteer and attend this event to support our local ambulance service, which we believe is the most wonderful in the world!” says Bobbi McKeon, owner of Heart’s Desire and coordinator of the Specialty Shops Group.
Dave’s BIG Meat Sale this week is huge for Fairbury. Folks come from far and wide to enjoy the great bargains. Thanks to Dave’s and the Dave’s Team for putting together such a great event and helping the other area businesses by bringing folks to shop and visit!
Also this Friday and Saturday, April 13th & 14th – the Specialty Shops are hosting their annual “Meat Us” in Fairbury event alongside Dave’s BIG meat sale. Shop locally and enjoy the great variety we have here!
Another event on Friday is Gutwein Quality Doors’ Open House after building their new location in the City of Fairbury. They serve people far and wide. When people come for one thing, they often shop and dine here, too!
“As I have said before,” Bobbi concludes, “we live in some of the greatest communities in the world!”
As always, if you have any stories, ideas or suggestions for interesting topics about our community, please stop by Heart’s Desire, call Bobbi McKeon at (815) 692-4500 or email fairbury@fairburyILattractions.com.
