The Livingston County Farm Bureau Young Leaders is sponsoring their annual Breakfast on the Farm – graciously hosted by Kilgus Farmstead on Saturday, June 16 from 7am to 10am.
Join them for a breakfast of biscuits and gravy, eggs, milk, orange juice and coffee for a donation of $1! All proceeds will be donated to Livingston County Food Pantries. The $1 represents the approximate amount the farmer receives for producing the food.
This event is open to everyone! Besides breakfast, attendees will be able to view agricultural displays, and Kilgus’ are giving tours of their dairy farm. Plus, there will be FREE kids activities, and the Farm Bureau will be giving away FREE pillow pets to the first 40 kids that take a tour.
The Livingston County Young Leaders is a group of young adults in the county with a tie to agriculture. The group works throughout the year to provide events and programs that promote agriculture in the community. They also bring in speakers from the Ag industry each month to continue to learn what is happening in the industry and the community. The Young Leaders group is always searching for more members who have an interest in agriculture and are looking for opportunities to give back to the community.
“So join them for a family-friendly morning on the farm!” comments Bobbi McKeon, owner of Heart’s Desire and coordinator of the Specialty Shops group.
“The directions to Kilgus Farmstead are: Go to the stop light on Route 24 in Fairbury, turn south on to South First Street, go one mile. Farmstead is on the right.
“This is another great event which brings folks to our small community,” concludes Bobbi.
