Bargains & Fun! Mark Your Calendars!

Come to Fairbury’s Junk in the Trunk event for great deals and loads of fun! Bring the whole family to Dave’s parking lot on Saturday, September 22 from 10am-2pm and shop for treasures and bargains. Sponsored by the Fairbury Rotary Club, this open-air flea market features TRUNKS of interesting items!

This event is a Route 24 event! Some locations also have food and fun for the kids! Plan to also visit any of the other Junk in the Trunk locations along Route 24: Watseka, Gilman, Chatsworth, El Paso, and Eureka. Plus, Forrest is holding their All-Town Garage Sales this weekend – Friday and Saturday, September 21st and 22nd!

Do you like the exciting events happening in the Fairbury area? Are you looking to improve something around town? Do you like volunteering or helping out your community? If so, then you should come to the upcoming Fairbury Improvement Group (FIG) meeting! From initiating events such as Junk in the Trunk to fixing up the town’s parks, FIG is trying to make Fairbury a better place.

In the upcoming meeting, FIG will be discussing what the group has accomplished in the past month as well as what needs to be worked on in the upcoming months. A big topic of conversation will be the projects that they will be taking on next year such as continuing the improvements on the Fairbury parks, possibly fixing up the Historic City Hall, and touching up or adding murals around town.

If you are able to attend, come to the next FIG meeting on September 18th at 7 pm, located in the New City Hall basement. Any feedback is helpful feedback, so make your voice heard!
