Have you ever noticed the small shed behind the Post Office in Fairbury. If you didn’t know what it is, you could probably tell it has something to do with the Railroad! Up until a few days ago, this TP&W shed was an “eyesore” in Fairbury.
Dale Maley took notice. He tried to contact TP & W to get permission to paint it. He was told not to expect to be able to do this as it would probably have to go through several lawyers to get the ok due to potential liability.
However, after a couple emails, maybe a phone call or two, and several weeks of waiting, Dale received the “go ahead!” Hurrah, Dale! Thank you for your persistence.
Dale has completed painting the shed. In the coming weeks he will be installing new signs on the shed including the TP&W logo sign and a Fairbury sign.
“Our whole community benefits from this upgrade. Thanks to Dale, we can all appreciate this small piece of our town looking so much better,” says Bobbi McKeon, owner of Heart’s Desire and coordinator of the Specialty Shops group.
“One other thing I want to mention,” concludes Bobbi, “Is to remember the VFW’s Fish Fry on Friday, July 13th, from 4:30 to 7pm. Go out enjoy a great dinner for a good cause!”
