2018 Project for Fairbury

The Fairbury Improvement Group, chaired by Dale Maley, met again recently at the new City Hall.  Besides getting updates on current projects, the group discussed projects for 2018.  Hold your horses, folks!  There is a lot planned for next year, too!  Below are notes taken directly from the minute of the meeting relating to 2018 projects:

2018 Project for Marsh Park Grand Re-Opening

-planning on July 4th, 2018

-many children’s activities, bands

-will include a golf cart parade

-Mary Carter – Planning Chairman

2018 Project to Repaint Sherman House building Sign

-historical building research completed by DC Maley

-probably going to paint 1882 Archer House name versus 1891 Sherman Hotel

-next step is to contact building owner

2018 Project for Ramp Access to Sunken Park

-No ramp access for annual food festival

-Concept is for Maley to design to ADA, City crew pours concrete

-Next step is preliminary design, then hold some review meetings

Next meeting Tues night Nov 21, 2017

-will meet at new City Hall
