FAIRBURY FAIR
141st Annual Fairbury Fair – here it comes, five day’s worth of entertainment, fun, and excitement in only the way that the “fair atmosphere” can bring. Starting Wednesday, August 16th, and continuing on through Sunday, August 20th, we’ve got one of the summer’s big events that is loaded with things to do, things to see, and all kinds of fun to be had. At the nucleus of this organized adventure land is Luehr’s Ideal Rides which comes complete with the carnival rides, the games, and the refreshment stands that we’ve all come to look forward to and appreciate. Luehr’s has been coming for several years now and they operate a clean, safe, efficient, and friendly set-up that makes the experience a pleasant one for all. Check out their daily specials on tickets and see how you and yours can “play” all day while keeping it easy on the wallet.
Each day of the Fair has its own schedule of shows, competitions, special programs, displays, and musical groups and here are a few of the notables:
Wednesday – 10am Rooster Crowing Contest
Red Cross Bloodmobile – 3-7pm
DJ Under the Beer Tent – 7-11pm
Thursday – Day Care Day opens at 10am
5:30PM – Registration for Meat Goat Show with show at 7pm
6pm – Late Model Modified Crate Racing
DJ Under the Beer Tent – 7-11pm
Friday – Euchre Tournament – 1pm
Ramer Racing Demolition Derby – 7pm
“Jury’s Out” performing at the Beer Tent – 8pm-12am
Saturday – 5k Run/2 Mile Walk – registration begins at 6:45am
Kids Baggo Tournament – check-in at 12:15pm – start at 1:00pm
6:30pm – Stock Car Racing
“The Indigos” performing at the Beer Tent – 8pm to 12am
Sunday – 10am – Community Worship Service in the Grandstand
Antique Farm Equipment Display – Noon
Chili Cook-off – Noon
Music Under the Beer Tent by Eric Burgett on piano – 1pm-5pm
Children’s Drawing (12 & under) in the Grandstand – 5pm
You’ve got livestock competitions, floral, hobby, arts, and crafts, and vegetable competitions, a variety of commercial stands, animal displays, and a whole lot of other stuff that goes into making a Fair into that unique annual event that always makes it something to look forward to and something to be missed when it’s over. Ah, so much to do and see and not hardly enough time to take it all in but, its certainly worth the effort of trying. Each day has its own way of keeping you and yours entertained so come on out and get yourself a dose of fun summer time style.
