FAIRBURY, IL – Stock Car Racing – Formula for Excitement – you take a well made and maintained quarter mile dirt track, blend in the area’s (and beyond) best drivers, put them in every class of stock cars there is, give them a racing program that pays well, add a few events that pay really well, and make it all happen in a stadium style arena and you have got yourself a dynamo of racing adventure that has a fan appeal to no end. That’s what you get every week-end of the racing season at the Fairbury American Legion Speedway. This refurbished facility is now even more “fan friendly” with it’s additional seating and restroom facilities and they continue to have some of the best food and drink vendors in the business. It makes for a great Saturday evening with the family, with friends, and with the throngs of fellow fans – its an atmosphere that doesn’t let up until the final checkered flag is waved for the Feature Race winner. Come on out and check it out – the Track is located inside the Fairbury Fair Grounds and has entrances at the south end of Third Street and on south First Street – there’s plenty of room for everyone and the entertainment is fast, furious, loud, and very exciting. It doesn’t take anyone very long to figure out that, hey, these guys are good!

July 30th – The 27th Annual Prairie Dirt Classic presented by The Bank of Pontiac – The World of Outlaws Late Model Series gives you 100 laps of pure stock car racing and with $27,000 on the line for the winner you can bet all the names of consequence are going to be in the hunt. This is the season’s Big One and you don’t want to miss it!
